Baby Evan's Infant Session

I did a double take when I pulled up to the address. This beautiful county home and property is a photographers dreamland. Unfortunately, being December, it was a little too cold for outdoor photography with a newborn. Fortunately, baby Evan was born to model and made staying inside well worth it! :)

At just 13 days old this little guy was unbelievable. He loved the camera, stayed awake the entire three hours we were together, and didn't even once crossed his eyes (which I have never seen someone his age manage to do).

The session went without a hitch, and I am praying for the privilege of photographing this sweetheart and his family in their incredible surroundings again in the future!

Congratulations on your first baby, Moriah and Tony!!! Evan couldn't be more precious!

Mark & Lauren's Wedding Day

I don't know what I enjoyed more; Sasha, the first ring-bearing pup I've ever had the privilege to witness walking down the isle, or the crazy matching shoe action of the gentlemen in the wedding party. Pam and I had a blast not only capturing Mark and Lauren's special day in photographs, but also taking in all the inside jokes, heartfelt speeches, and stories of the past from their many close friends and family members. This beautiful wedding was laced with fun personalized little treats!

Kathleen & Jimmy's Engagement Session

It's always fun to photograph a couple who has their own hopes and inspirations for their session.

Jimmy and Kathleen not only showed up packed full of great ideas, but their unique personal styles as a couple and individually really made this shoot special. I loved opening the files to see an entirely fresh and new concept unfold. One that I never could have come up with on my own. I can't wait to spend more time with these newly engaged sweethearts at their wedding this summer!

Mark & Jen's Family Session

This shoot was SO MUCH FUN!

I don't often get to photograph a family in their own setting. Mark and Jen have the perfect property for a beautiful fall family session. I was so proud of Jen's smart attire selections, Mark's bonfire building, their own creative ideas, and their willingness to trek into the woods and hang out in the trees for me.

Much like their two little ones, Manny and Lil'l, these photographs couldn't have been sweeter!

Even Maggie, the family dog, was an awesome part of our time together.

Sean & Melissa's Family Session

This afternoon, I had the privilege of meeting and photographing this beautiful family for the first time. As we strolled through Pamperin Park at the tail end of our Indian Summer, I quickly fell in love with Melissa, Sean, and their two adorable boys Max and Mason. All four of them are so full of love and peace.

From our photographer mix-up and hunt for the perfect "non-lighting" to climbing trees and band aids from Jesus, this family session was easily loaded with smiles, goofy faces, and lots of fall colors!

Baby Amelia's Debut

Amelia Violet is here!!! Elizabeth and Seth's Baby girl arrived on Monday, Sept 26th, and she is nothing short of incredible. She's absolutely beautiful, and to add to my delight, she is already quite comfortable with being photographed. Maybe she remembers the sound of her photographer's voice and the click of my shutter when she was still tucked in her Mama's tum. :)

Welcome baby girl. And congratulations new Mama and Daddy. It's been a gorgeous journey thus far. Thank you for letting me capture the highlights!

Ezekiel's Birthday Photos

I always love to have new photographs to mark the beginning of each year of my favorite subject and my muse- my son, Ezekiel. This week we took his six year photos at Pamperin Park. It's so much fun to work with someone who has been in front of the camera all his life. Especially now that he's old enough to have a vision of his own. My sweet boy has grown so much! Liz & Seth Maternity

On Monday, I met with Liz and Seth for our fourth photo session together to quick capture the Mama and Daddy-to-be right before they become a ridiculously adorable family of three!

Years ago Liz contacted me to book sessions for both her and Seth's engagement and wedding photography. We made two dates for engagement shoots, and then of course, the big day which can be viewed here.

They are such a sweet couple. Quite, down to earth, and super grateful for all that God has given them.

I have a feeling their biggest gift is soon to be seen! ETA: September 15th

Sarita's Sweet Sixteen Glamor Session

No, she's not a professional model, although she could be. This is Sarita, our foreign exchange student from Paraguay, and this weekend I took her downtown for a sweet sixteen photo session. Wes & Krista's Wedding

Pam and I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Wes & Krista this weekend in Appleton, Wisconsin. Better known as "Westa", this Christian couple gathered their closest friends and family for what proved to be a peace-filled, easygoing, gorgeous day for their union.

From the beautiful Heritage Hill Ceremony, to their hopping reception at The Marq Hall, their day went off without a hitch. We were glad to be a part of this blessed occasion.

Eric and Kristen's Wedding

I don't even know where to start. I haven't stopped dreaming about this amazing wedding since Pam and I reluctantly drove out of the long gravel driveway and away from Homestead Meadows, weeks ago. Not only am I desperately in love with this particular couple (and the bride's Mother, Barb) but their whole entire wedding was so beautifully thoughtful, out of the box, enticing, entertaining, detailed, and let me mention...scrumptious!

From the laid back country feel of the location, the lawn games, amazing table settings, personalized gifts and photographs, and billions of deserts, to the tractor rides, bonfire, smores and tree climbing by the bride in her wedding dress... this wedding was altogether spectacular!

The presence of God was overwhelming!!!

And best of all, Eric, Kristen, and family will probably always be a part of our lives after the bonding we've done throughout this occasion.

Engagements, weddings, friendships, and photography...

it doesn't get much better than this for me. :)

Bay Area Humane Society Pet Walk 2011

Who knew that animals could connect to a photographer and be exposed from the soul so similarly to humans? I certainly didn't. That was until this morning, anyway.

I was honored when Kellen from the BAHS asked me if I would photograph their annual Pet Walk this year. I had no idea what an awesome event it would be!

The atmosphere was amazing. I've never seen so many animals in one place all at such ease. The peace was almost surreal. Not a fight or even a scuffle.

I had such a great time meeting and photographing so many four-legged Humane Society Advocates there to enjoy the perfect weather and the opportunity to walk for a cause.

Ryan & Shelley's Wedding

We were rocking out at Ryan and Shelley's wedding this weekend! We went from the catholic church, to the bar, to the packer stadium. It was quite the ride.

Ryan and Shelley contracted me and my partner in crime, Pam, of Pamela Haag Photography, for their Wedding Day. Pam did a beautiful job capturing this happy couple during her engagement session with them weeks earlier.

Eric & Kristen Engagement Session

It was such a blessing to spend some one-on-one time with Eric & Kristen during our engagement session this weekend in Sobieski, WI. They are, hands down, the sweetest pair.

I'm always fascinated with the way a couple's personality, roles, and connection to one another really come alive during a photo shoot. The sneak peek into the heart of this special relationship was inspiring, not only from a photographer's perspective, but also as a wife.

I felt like I'd left the movie theater after watching the way they love one another... the way she guides him yet leans on the pillar he is for her, the way he gently responds to and always protects her. They made me a pile of mush.

One of the first things I do when I meet someone for a session is learn what makes them authentically smile. I've never found this before, but the one thing that makes Eric absolutely beam with joy is when Kristen smiles.

It was an easy task to make this beautiful bride-to-be burst out in laughter. After all, she is standing next to the love of her life.

I can't wait to be a part of their their Big Day, on June 26, 2011!!!

Eric and Erica's Wedding

What a day this was. Pam and I will never forget it! Some of my favorite photos that I've ever taken are of "the erics". They just have such a gorgeous mix of classy elegance, wild-restraint, abandoning theatrics, strength, capacity, and loving kindness that it's hard not to get a super photograph of them every time.

This couple, whose engagement photos took place in Madison, WI, had their wedding in Green Bay, WI, and their reception at none-other-than the infamous Lambeau Packer Stadium. It was incredible!

I met Eric and Erica in Madison, WI, for their engagement session, and the three of hit it off right away. Although they weren't living there anymore the couple graduated together from law school in Madison, and they had lots of favorite spots they wanted to hit. This made for lots of sentimental and special photographs.

It was so much fun to visit some of the cities highlights for the first time while getting to know and photographing this awesome couple. I was sad to leave them but needed to begin my long ride home, as evening had definitely snuck up on us too quickly. I just couldn't get enough of them! :)

Jake & Shawna Engagement

I knew Shawna when she was too young to be kissing boys. But I sure loved the invite to capture the love she and her then fiance were oozing for one another during their engagement period. Their wedding was even more incredible.

Precious, committed to God first and then one another, and neither of them too hard on the eyes. Thought it was in '07, I've never forgotten this dream shoot... I just couldn't leave it out!

Seth & Elizabeth's Wedding

My first Heritage Hill wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful. Seth is a sweetheart who can name every tree on the lot for you, and Liz, who is a homeschool comrade, sits equally next to her man with her own black belt in karate. Don't mess with her. She may be sweet as pie, but she can kick your you know what! :)

Awwww! My first professional paid wedding!

An enthusiastic beginning ammeter with my little Nikon D50. The photos are a bit of a mess, but that eye! What I wouldn't give to have some of that freshness back to work with.

This is the day I fell in LOVE with wedding photography. There's nothing like being front and center, step by step, during one of the biggest days of two people's lives.

This puts to shame the difference between movies and live theater. It's a real life fairy tale, usually with a little added drama for flare, and I absolutely can not get enough.

The shared moments, the intimacy of conversation and prayers with otherwise complete strangers, the life long bonds and friendships that are sealed in those eight to twelve hours. There's nothing like it.

Kristine and Brett's wedding was in the country. Their families and wedding party were wonderful and so much fun! I remember how disappointed I was when I left that night that I may never see these people again in my life. I felt so close to them all after a day like that.

I learned later that one of the many beauties of being a photographer is the relationships I get to build with the awesome friends and family I meet and make, fit for a lifetime. :)
